Classifieds and Auctions Thread

I’m certain it’s a sport. The paint is definitely dull and I noticed those peeled sections long ago but I’d say it looks like a typical straight CA car I wouldn’t expect to see here.

I’d give it a 7 I guess
Hmmm. Much to think about here.

If you speak Japanese and know someone in Japan who is willing to deliver cash directly to the buyer's hand, you can own what are probably the rarest MN12 parts ever made.

And yes, the VW kid in me wants a set of E-code MN12 tails quite badly.

I’ve legit never seen those, neat! I expected they’d be the sealed beam headlight housings semi-known about

JDM!!! And they are SuperCouple tails so even rarer. So did everything over there just get the SC tail lights then? Because the LX has a black stripe where the orange section is on that.

So Ford made the amber turn signal taillights for some oversea markets? They look molded properly, not like they were modified.

Surprised that a MN12 ended up in Japan. Wonder if it went over there new in the 90's, or was an imported used car from some other European market that requires the ambers?

No. Older ones had the entire corner amber with the black stripe, and the tail/brake migrated to the trunk. There were pics of that floating around; I'll try to find them later.

My guess is it was a US serviceman stationed in Japan who took his car with him. Japan requires dedicated rear signals but not a rear fog light.

That was an export car, i.e., manufactured for export. Or modified by an independent importer overseas.

I am almost certain it’s the latter scenario. There was definitely a cottage industry that catered toward legalizing NA cars for European streets, you can see similar adaptations in other models. Lorain didn’t have the specific parts on hand to install. The only MN12s actually produced from the factory specifically for a country outside the US/Canada were the ones produced in Mexico for Mexico. Lorain produced the Canadian cars but all that consisted of was a DRL module a different speedometer face and a few stickers… oh and seatbelts/sail panels for 89-93s

Those look like a custom job when you look at the socket for the turn signal and the wiring for them. I would bet the Japanese equivalent of orange Krylon was used on the lens.

I think they cut out a section of the stock lens and inserted an amber piece. You can’t turn a red lens amber with paint, only works the other way around

I just don't think that's true. I think these were manufactured by the actual supplier. There are tons of similar examples; these aren't custom lights. Also note folding side mirror which didn't exist on US Taurus and Continental, plus rear headrests on s SWB Town Car.

This is cool, I hate silver cars, but silver with a red gut? That breaks up the monotony! Never seen this combo on a SC before

Solid 93 Mark VIII driveshaft if anyone is looking for one. Ebay notified me from an old saved search.

I can’t believe I sold mine for like $100 shipped 😆

Yea same here. I think I threw mine in for $20 with the 4r70w I sold when I moved. But $285 shipped isn't bad for a hard to find part that is an upgrade over stock.

Kind of want to buy it just to add to my parts hoard incase I need to upgrade another car ..... But I keep telling myself if I get another car just for fun, it should be something I haven't had before. That's not to say if a clean MN12 or Mark showed up for the right price I probably wouldn't be able to help myself from buying it.

I need to get that and install that performance part for my car today and experience the best in driving experience. I really feel like it would be a great addition to my car, providing excellent performance and reliability.

I'm really not looking forward to giving Bill $800 for a new driveshaft, wish these worked on AOD cars.

Hmmm another hint. The "electric" part had me confused.

First thing I ever bought from SCP, I figured the shock was obvious lol

I just think electric boogaloo is the best sequel name ever 😎

Nice! So much better than chrome.

I way prefer the chrome! The problem with white is the angles… I always liked that specific pic I took way back in 2010ish(god I’m getting old!) but the blackout treatment behind the fins was much more extensive and flattering with the chrome LS/93 XR7 grilles than the body color ones which were all color front to back. This image I always found less flattering
