Just want to throw this out here for future reference. I got the used tank yesterday, it was filthy, it’s like the PO dumped a bunch of stop leak in it or never changed the coolant. I watched a YouTube video of a guy using kitty litter, some bleach and water to clean it out so I tried it. DON’T DO IT. Because of our set up with different chambers it was a pain to get all that litter out.

What I did finally was use simple green, some nuts and hot water, multiple times till it was clean water coming out. I spent hours cleaning out and it’s not perfect, but pretty darn good. Make sure you count the nuts in and they all come out.

I’ve had good success with rock salt. They have a similar abrasive effect as BBs (or nuts in your case) for knocking the gunk off the insides but when you’re done if there’s any still stuck in there just fill with water and wait overnight for them to fully dissolve.
