Post a picture you took today

I have seen two, one was on the street and one rolled into a car show revving it's (fake) engine.

I really feel bad for the designers of that car. They made a real valiant effort at convincingly recreating modernized 68-70 body without being overtly retro (like the Challenger) but every single department from marketing to engineering just completely spoiled it with cringey crap like that.

I guess that might explain the strange fuel door.I thought they were offering a straight six? I hope they do an engine swap it soon. It really does look nice

They’re supposed to get the hurricane turbo straight six…. But really even if it’s slower this body needs a non-synthetic V8 exhaust note.

Hey that reminds me of a certain other nearly 40 year old platform with too much tech for its own good:tongue:

FINALLY saw one! I was in shock coming around the corner

It’s beautiful failure at least. Although FFS does every “muscle car(LOL)” Dodge make have to have a tacked on lip spoiler? I don’t care if it’s this thing, a previous hellcat Charger, demon 170 Challenger et al, they all would look better without one!

What's funny is that I've been seeing these just about daily. Saw my first one like 2 months ago.

I saw one two months ago as well BUT it was also black, and there's a not insignificant chance it's the very same car. I genuinely think this is the only 2024 Charger in the Chicago suburbs lol

I'm not surprised they're out there with 87 octane costing twice what it is here, Dodge is practically giving these away if you lease them

Edge = MKX
Fusion = MKZ
Taurus = MKS

And in defense of those Lincolns, their interiors are really very good. Only real woods, all soft-touch. MKS shared a lot of surface textures with contemporary Jaguars.

I understand the criticism...but I still like those cars. They're extremely nose-heavy and top-heavy...but in a straight line they're exceptionally comfortable.

Laughing at how bad I failed that quiz. I mainly dislike them for the cheap attempt to look different externally.

Only reason I know the MKz was a Fusion is because my Dad took me with him car shopping when they were brand new and called Zephyr and I told him “this is lame as shit” and he bought his used Lexus GS300 instead lol

Ok, I can somewhat agree regarding first gen MKX and MKZ. But second gen looked completely different from the Ford models, and MKS was completely unique from the start.

Proportions you can't do much about with this type of platform sharing. They were never ugly cars.

Boring and unremarkable is how I’d describe the MKZ and S and “Continental”, not ugly. But I’d rather have the Fusion they’re derived from as far as aesthetics are concerned

MKx, bleh I truly do hate crossovers , didn’t Lincoln even stick the Town Car name on stretched ones at some point? Yeah no thanks.

My issue with modern era Lincolns is that there is nothing whatsoever “Lincoln” about them. Lincolns used to have their own chassis, then in the 90s they had the air ride thing going, as well as their own engine in the 4.6 4v. The Lincoln LS was at least a badge engineered Jaguar, which isn’t great but at least for a few years the chassis and engine were different than anything else in Ford’s lineup. But now Lincoln is just a badge engineered Ford, and they are so lazy about it they can’t even be bothered to dig through the family history to come up with a name! You don’t get to call yourself a luxury brand if all you do is throw leather seats and wood paneling on an Escape and do nothing with the suspension, or the chassis, or even the ticking timebomb that is the 4-cylinder eco-boost engine!

I like the new Continental. The blue interior was gorgeous. The door handles were gorgeous.

All the criticism is warranted, but overall they were still prettier than many contemporary competitors. And the second gen Z was daring.

I’m not a fan of modern(last 20-25 years) car design so I think I say this without bias but I think Lexus Cadillac, BMW and Mercedes in the luxury sedan market were definitely better, if for no other reason having a cohesive identity to their designs. Acura is probably the most comparable to modern Lincoln engineering wise being FWD based on mainstream Honda platforms but I think I’d even give Acura the nudge higher. Lincoln has had this weird aesthetic that is neither modern or retro and it’s just not worked for me. The LS was the last Lincoln I could find the appeal of but it was really just a copy of the BMW 5 series.

Loaded up the wife, two kids in car seats, dog, all our luggage, and a John Deere, in a midsize Club Cab and drove to Louisiana for the weekend to see my sister and her family. Made a pit stop at the parents' to drop their new mower off.

Nobody ended up dead or divorced, so I'll consider it a win.

Dodged that bullet :LOL:... I rarely see Fusions/Zephyrs on the roads anymore, unless they are just so bland I don't notice them. A properly taken care of Lexus will outlive us all.

IMO Lexus is one of the better luxury brands. They in general are slow to adapt new tech and follow all the other popular fads. Plus, they seem to still offer traditional luxury traits like quietness and smooth ride.

You are correct for the pre-2013 Fusions. My 2013 has been flawless and most of those I know with them have had the same experience.

But I do miss the old-school Lincolns. My grandmother had a 1999 Continental and it was the definition of PLUSH. The comfort made up for the pain of working on a FWD V8.

:geek:

Got a new video card... Here is my setup now, an AMD CPU and an Intel GPU. Best budget build option it seems

Was sick of my Radeon RX7600s random game crashes. This Intel B580 cost the same as the RX7600, it's running faster, and has not crashed yet

I am impressed... hopefully Intel keeps making GPUs
