Post a picture you took today

The phrase should be "I made this!" :P Nice burn, how much tread do you have left?

Also these are like 60$ tires so im not complaining at all. They do have a firmer ride being cheap preformance tires but there is barely a dent in the tread. Front dont look much different.

Even the open diff was having a good day and deciding to spin both wheels every burnout.

I cant imagine the rear end is happy though. Just like every one of these cars ive had it has terrible slack in the rear and clunks going into reverse.

You probably just need new U joints, you’re not going to hurt an 8.8 doing burnouts

Ah thats kind of janky but fair enough

That’s one reason I have never been a fan of them, just behind their insane vulnerability to curbs and speedbumps and very questionable aesthetic “improvements” over the factory designers intentions. But to each their own there. They hide rocker rust at least 😝

Went to the monthly car show today and took my Gold Bird! I was the only T-Bird there this time, not even that 1st Gen showed up.

I was however parked with all the other Fords :)

Also saw this 4 Eye Fox Body. There was also a Pantera DeTomaso, but sadly I didn't get a picture of that one.

Can't remember if I've shared my nephews 87 Monte Carlo SS. I did much of the wiring when we swapped the motor when it was my brother's car. It's got a mild 408ci SBC.

Very nice, G body Monte SSs look so damn good, 408 is quite the upgrade from the smogger 305!

I know recently Leno’s law passed in CA but how was this guy not public enemy no.1 there until recently? 😆

Leno's Law - SB712 - has not passed. It is currently in the appropriations committee where if it passes there it goes to the full CA Senate for a vote. If it passes there, then it goes to the governor where he can pass or veto the law.

So, not quite there yet. Fingers crossed though!

Dont pass a 'law' just for Jay Lenos car collection. Fucking weirdos

It’s not, the vast majority of his collection is long since smog exempt so it seems to me his involvement is pretty selfless. CA currently has had pre cars 1975 cars smog exempt(not emissions tested), if this law passed it would move the emissions goalpost to much later model cars. I don’t know the specifics of Jay Leno’s involvement other than the nickname. But I do know it is utterly absurd for California to keep enforcing strict emissions standards on cars that are complete non-entities whose factory emissions systems were shit to begin with. As if the 3 80s Dodge Diplomats still running in the state with non functioning lean burn are the root of all the wildfires, give me a break.

I don’t even like Leno all that much, Letterman was the funny one, but he is a true car guy and the cause is good for all of us, bureaurats and environmentalists had it set so the car would hobby to die off with the boomers. Getting rid of this pre-75 exemption benefits all car hobbiests in the state, and given CA’s influence in this area nationally I’d expect beyond.

This bill is intended for my DOHC Tbird to be 100% street legal .. and then I realized that my 1990 is actually a 1991. 🤔

Also, the appropriations committee only reviews or determines the fiscal impact to the state - they dont vote on anything.

So it takes a massive nearly unobtainable collection to buy a voice of more years of smog exemption instead of safety inspections

It takes someone who has the clout and reputation across aisles to essentially represent *us* respectfully. It’s like I said, I’m not much of a Jay Leno fan, but I’d much rather it be him to push the needle than some broke idiot doing street takeovers in a stolen Scat Pack on Tik Tok to help get us motoring freedom.

Safety inspections? Pfft, what are those? lol

Its been attempted several times over the years before it made it this far .. just like legalizing weed. That took decades.

Find of the day. Tenants moved out of the house down the street and left this behind. Landlord put it on the curb. Left a note to see if they wanted it gone and he texted saying I could have it for free.

Sounds like all the hardware is inside it. Needs a key but it uses Thule cylinders and they are coded.

I'm going to put crossbars over the bed of the truck and mount it there for race weekend shenanigans.
Ordered a key from Thule and it came in yesterday. Jackpot.
