to find true suckage, you have to go to the motorcycle world. My gs750,for example . Valve clearance is adjusted with shims, that go in a bucket, over the valvestems. 4 cyl dohc, that turns 12k rpms. If you get a magnet near the valvetrain,it will spit the shims out. :) Luckily, I have a tv tube demagnitizer.,lol.Last thing after working on it is the ritual degaussing.

So they finally put an actual engine in the Charger, only to cover it up with the biggest piece of Tupperware I’ve seen yet!

The model Miata in a parking space is adorable lol

You’re right, that is the Daytona, I thought that was a particularly weird engine cover. All the ones I saw up til now look like this IMG_7850.jpeg


So the storage frunk is actually optional on these? What’s the starting price again?



Edit it’s still fairly hard to find underhood pics of the six pack so I assume it’s not yet released, but my engine cover comment still stands on the one I found🤭

The green tbird is awesome I can't tell 62 or 63, because they deleted the bqdges/accents.

I spoke with the owner and he said the "engine" cover is for the front motor. I asked about the "frunk" thing myself as well.

Part of why I thought it was the Six was I could have sworn the cover on the Daytona EV covered everything; eg open the hood and it’s all black plastic fender to fender, nose to cowl. I must just be used to seeing the Tesla frunks.
 
That 63 is in a damn sight better shape than my 63. When I got mine, it was because my dad's apartment made him trash it. No power steering, no wipers, pass side sideswipe across full car, no floorboards... I fixed the mech stuff, but I suck at bodywork. :)

Throwing the resonator back in my truck to tone it down just a little bit since I daily drive it now, and I work overnights, I don’t want to piss off the neighbors. 🙂
 
Those wheels look great! that's what I'm rocking on Lazarus! We got white stuff too, a foot in higher elevations.

Not as bad as a late model Lexus LS series I worked on some time ago. They have just about everything completely covered with plastic panels. I don't get it. When was the last time a Lexus owner even opened the hood of their car anyway?

On the Lexuses, the plastic panels over top of the engine were usually padded with sound insulation for NVH reduction.

Same for Volkswagen's TSI engines in the models that weren't the GTI or GLI. Pull the plastic cover off a GTI or GLI 2.0TSI and the back of it is bare. Pull the same cover off the same 2.0TSI in an Eos or CC or Tiguan and there is sound deadning insulation on the back of it.

On the actual engine cover, sure, it probably did. This thing had plastic panels like that Dodge above attached to the inner fenders from the header panel all the way back to the firewall on each side of the engine and over the radiator. First thing I would do if I owned the car is take all of them off.

But I will say that the engine bay of the IS F which I once considered has a different purpose for all of the engine bay plastic. It's hideous underneath because all the tubing and wiring crosses over the top of the block. I guess there's an engine under there somewhere.

I’m having flashbacks to the last time I had to do a starter in one of those. That is way too much crap on top of the intake manifold!

The IS-F was clearly engineered by someone who as a kid shoved everything under the bed when they were told to clean their rooms

Do you mind sharing the wheel and tire setup? I absolutely love that stance, do you get any rubbing anywhere and did you need to trim anything?
