Post a picture you took today

That makes sense. What I would say, is you can also just swap the parts so you have one good car and then swap them back when you find replacements. That way you could have the replacements painted to match and then pop them on the car when done.

Literally right now. The last cheap tank of gas before this shit shoots up at least $2...

And TBH, this shit has been creeping up over the last few weeks. Right before I left to see my mom in NC, gas at this place was hovering at $3.80/gal.

What part or Indiana are you in? Pull a part in indy has a 96 cougar and the one in Louisville has a 97 tbird.

If all the stuff is still there it would probably $200-$300 there...I think the hood is 75, fender is 50, same with header panel.

If desperate the fender is the same 89-97, you’d just need to drill holes for the cladding to make it work on your car

Looks like $55 for the bumper cover. Not sure how close to Cincinnati you are, but I think Bill at scp might have a header panel and bumper cover, not sure what he'd want for them but I could ask him tomorrow. I know he's go a white 96-97 bumper cover, just can't remember if it's front or rear, but I know he would love for it to disappear...

That would be appreciated if you would ask. Im not to far from cincy.

In my city of Arcadia California, there’s a lot of peacocks that roam free in the surrounding area’s. They are gorgeous and make a crazy noise haha. The locals complain that they are too loud and shit everywhere. Right now is baby making season so it’s nice to see them strut their stuff.

Locals are just jealous, that’s the most Californian animal god could have created 😂

Must be ice under the oilpan, or it's concrete, and there is no oilpan anymore.

Wow, that is a good shot. I did not realize they had that many feathers per bird. They sell peacock feathers as cat toys here at Mud Bay pet stores. Billed as all natural, I think they were either 2.99 or 3.99 each. That is one valuable bird!

There was one of those random shows on History or Discovery about "Unknown" which was about the mythic ThunderBird. Interesting first hand accounts of some big birdman things. I'm sure it has nothing to do with drugs🙄

In fairness it’s exactly what the car was named after lol

But it’s still way less widely known today in 2026, this is an outrage!!!

Frank is a tbird:
Frank is a majestic, 40-foot wingspan Thunderbird in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, rescued from traffickers in Egypt by Newt Scamander. As a native of Arizona, Frank was brought to New York in 1926 to be released into his natural habitat, serving as a key ally to Newt

It is definitely fixable. The bumper is fixable, but I am going to need a new hood, fender, header panel, and light. I am going to buy a legit parts car so I can get both of my cars running. I was thinking about getting a 94/95 hood and headlights, do you guys know if this is possible or if it would even look good?

It won’t look good, there’s a crease in the middle of the 94-95 hood that isn’t there in the 96-97 bumper. Plus the lights are more blocky

The best combo is the 94/95 hood and bumper with the 96/97 header panel and headlights. There will be a slight gap between the headlights and the hood, but it isn’t that noticeable. So if you find a 94/95 parts car, get the header panel from whoever it was on here that had one, and get the lights new aftermarket. The fenders are the same apart from having to drill the holes to mount the cladding, but that is easy enough to make a template out of your old fender to get them in the right spot.

Hit 120k in the Dakota yesterday. That's the last service interval listed in the manual. Changed the oil last night with Castrol 10W-30 dino oil.

Distributor cap, rotor, and coil are original from 1997. They've lived a good life, so I'm going to swap them all preemptively. Already did the transmission and differential services at 117k before we drove it to Daytona for the Rolex 24.
