Post a picture you took today

Went to visit the queen mary today in Long Beach. It’s been sitting there since the 70’s I believe. At one point it was used to transport troops during ww2 and had 5 40mm guns in board. This being one of them, truly a piece of history. I can only imagine what this suckers sounded like at full blast.

Yes it was there in '77. We toured it along with the Spruce Goose.

Brought out my tester. Letting my friend borrow it for a few days while he does up his new house.

Cat anything ethernet is so much easier than ethernet over RG-8, using vampire taps.
Look it up, you won't believe it.
One of my designs I got a nice raise for was to replace a $1000 dollar teflon cable with a $2 cat-6 cable. There are 144 of those cables!

The old weeping willow got a brush cut Friday.
It was cut like the last pic about 10-12 years ago. There was a lot of dead falling out of it so it was time. There will be lots of green on it by end of summer.View attachment 17717View attachment 17718
I would love to plant a willow tree in my yard, its mostly clay though so idk how well it would fair but there is a sloped area that pretty much stays a wetland all year round that might be good for it

I've never heard of a vampire tap until now, but thankfully, the days of thicknet and thinnet are well in the past.

For homes with only coaxial cable intended for cable TV, MoCA or G.hn coaxial adapters are the way to go depending if the coax is going to be lit or dark. However, they're both limited by current standards and/or commercially available devices which only provide 2.5 and 2 Gbps respectively of total concurrent bandwidth, which is not great.

I've got quad shield RG-6coax for video, cat 6 for ethernet. I had fiber to the switch from the scsi server until that switch died; hardware gets old, like us, lol.
I still run two Network segments, one for internet, and one not.
Dos 6.3 or WinXP or OS2 2.2 doesn't like the internet these days, lol.

Nice find but [the photo] is very confusing!

I don’t hate them, I think I’d need to see a wide shot of the car to decide. I had 2011 Coyote style 4.6 badges in place of the factory V8 badges for a little while and wound up concluding the same thing as Martin after a while; too chunky.

BUT those look smaller than the ones I had

There were some bigger ones than these, but I don't have to get wet to grab these.

Luckily I drove my son's old car to work as there's a few thousand in damage on it. I would have cried if it was my new truck. Unfortunately while he was at college his new(to him) car got hit and has 50+ dings. I expect the hood and trunk being replaced and the rest paintless dent repair. He's had it less than a week😕

System rolled through here, nickel-quarter sized. I was getting soaked from splashback staring at my poor Focus grating my teeth 😬 but seemingly no new dings.

I’m not crazy about them, I’m not a big fan of any badges that don’t come factory.

Sometimes I even take off factory badges, as long as there isn’t holes behind it. 🫢

For me it’s purely situational dependent, I do hate the blue oval badge on Thunderbirds, Ford never stuck a Ford badge on the exterior of ANY Thunderbird other than the MN12s and to me it’s the biggest blemish of our cars(Thunderbird to me was a brand in and of itself). I’m ok with the stock V8 badges these cars came with, they’re small and subdued but have great detail, being 3 dimensional with their chrome acrylic construction. I like pseudo factory styled badges like these in theory but in execution not so much, I’d rather just have the plain 91-95 V8 badge or nothing, I’ve tried a few and none stuck(figuratively, it’s a bitch to remove them lol)

This is 5 mil tungsten wire; it will take an emblem that's on with the 3M tape off in seconds. You have to wrap it around something to keep from amputating a finger, lol.

I am so fucking done with winter, I JUST WANT TO TAKE MY CAR OUT OF STORAGE BEFORE JUNE, is that too much to ask? At this rate it won't happen till then (ok i know I'm being a bit dramatic but c'mon, this is getting tiring, taken on my deck btw)

It was 80 here today, gonna be hotter tomorrow.
Gonna pull the gas tank on the bike and drain it. I'll pull the carbs and start disassembling.
I have a bucket of carb jet cleaner; got to pull them all, and soak them for an hour.

Nah, I might complain, but I would never get satisfaction from another bird owner's ride being outta commission. Plus you simply chose the better place to live :ROFLMAO:

86 here today. Prepared for cutting a fuel access panel.
I've been procrastinating, because of the hack aspect, but I ain't getting the gas out any other way. (that leaves it driveable, lol.)
