I see a lot of later model Fords (Freestyle sticks in my mind because I just did one) that have pretty large diameter rear rotors (like 13"), but teeny tiny pads that can wear faster than the fronts. Seems like the Explorer/Flex/Edge might have been similar. I don't think it has anything to do with brake bias.

I'm not sure that I've heard of anyone taxing the rear brakes on our cars, much less when paired with Cobra rotors.. I guess it would be cool to have four piston Brembo's back there, but I don't know what it really gains you for the money.
