I should while I’m here, but no lol Kooks headers
I should talk to them again about my Tbird.Renewed my Hagerty policy for the Thunderbird today. I've always had it on a montly payment plan which is usually around $25-30 a month.
Got my renewal notice earlier this month and learned that my annual premium went down. Only problem is it dropped below their threshold for allowing a monthly payment, so I had to pay in full for the whole year.
Definitely made sure their customer care heard my complaints about hearing this with less than a month's notice.
Definitely worth a call. I have my value set at $4000 with $100k/300k liability and $0/$500 comp/collision deductibles. My annual premium with a clean record in Tennessee is about $325. They don't do mileage checks but I tell them I put 500 to 1000 a year on it, which is honestly an overestimate.I should talk to them again about my Tbird.
Last time I talked to them they offfered me 10K in coverage. I asked for more as I have over 10K in my engine and power train alone.Definitely worth a call. That premium includes their Drivers Club membership, which pays for itself if you have a service call or buy a set of Michelins. I didn't have Hagerty in North Carolina, but my Erie premiums in Apex were significantly lower than they are here.

I see zero benefits to living where you live. No offense, but Jesus. That's awful. That's my monthly payment.![]()
I flew out with friends to grab lunch at a diner on the field at a nearby airport this afternoon. It was 93 on the ground with a dew point of 75.
There was a very obvious temperature inversion. As we climbed through 5000 the temp had been dropping steadily - it was down to about 74 and we could clearly see that we were flying through the "cap" to the humidity; it was a very hazy gray beneath us if you looked ahead but crystal clear and blue above us. As I climbed through the last 500 feet to cruise altitude and passed through the air layer the temp suddenly jumped up from 74 to 78.
Never heard of that happening before. Anything fall into the valve cover?
I am assuming the bolt broke and the nut on the bottom fell off? I see broken sway bar end links like this pretty frequently. One of my customers had a third gen Explorer with front sway bar end links like this. I probably put three sets of end links on that thing over the years. OEM, aftermarket, didn't matter. Rust was part of the problem, but stress on the bolt was another. It looks like that is an aftermarket bar so increased stress could do that. You'd be surprised how many ball joint end style sway bar end links I see that are just completely missing.Currently bleeding the brakes(ugh) Then noticed something odd about my sway bar link…

So many questions I’m asking myself; did I forget to install it? if so where is it??? Did it fail and blow out and if so why? And lastly how long has it been like this???![]()
