What did you do with your Thunderbird Today?

Which sub(s) are you running now and what size do you want to upgrade to? What amp(s) do you have in mind?

I'm planning on washing mine tomorrow and taking it for a drive up into the mountains of NC with my son.

It'll be his first time driving the Tbird. I'm very excited to see his reaction to the car.

As a side note, pending mods on my car:
  • Replace the OD crank pulley
  • Adjust the meth injection flow rate after I had to replace the pump switch about 4 maybe 5 years ago. It's been so long I don't even remember.
  • Touch up the paint
  • Replace the exhaust tips
  • and, I've been wanting to install after market bucket seats for decades. May be next year ...
Might be nice to have a 2026 mods/upgrades/fixes thread?

It was a 95 s speed sc. I'm going to be transferring everything from my 93 lx over to it because my 93 is so rusty that with the power I have it's twisting in half. It has no motor, transmission fuel tank and some of the interior is gone but it is 100% rust free. Very little prep needed to get it ready to repaint, but I'll be staying with the same color. I'm sure my neighbors are loving me right now...that's the 4th mn12 I have on my property now...

It has to be frozen solid to go full cannonball. I had some hs friends, who, after college were tasked with evaluating aircraft canopies vs bird strikes. They put a 30# butterball thru the canopy, a steel mount, and the wind tunnel:) Gotta love new engineers, lol.

Opened the garage and looked at it. 😂
Can’t drive it cause I’m waiting on a couple small changes in my tune file from my tuner.

Since we’re on the subject of winter/ future plans, I’ll share mine too.

- Remove the transmission, Bring it to the guy I bought it from for him to check the reverse synchros ( although, I’m thinking it’s the TOB and fork actually)

- Remove the 3 gauge A pod pillar, I don’t think it looks all that great anymore and it’s a huge blind spot. I have an SC cluster, I’m going to swap the boost gauge in place of my volt meter, and move the AFR and water to under the radio.

- Get the windshield replaced due to a crack.

- Reinstall my oil catch can that I never put back after installing the supercharger.

- Replace the idler pulley that came with the supercharger due to it squealing.

- I might fab up a new trans tunnel shifter plate, the one I made is ok, but it could be better.

I’m sure I’ll find some other small things along the way I’ll change too.

I’m thinking of doing the AJE tubular subframe in the future but not until they fix the alignment issues. Anyone here have feedback back on that?

I heard that too, that’s just poor craftsmanship which turns me off.

I’m interested to see if they’re going to correct this issue the right way.
That's what I'm leaning towards on mine. I also thought about the nord-lock washers, but I'm not sure how much they will actually help. I've heard a couple guys broke them loose.

I’ve also heard that, I’m not in a rush to buy it, so I can wait. I was thinking next winter. I’ll have to call AJE to see if they have any plans on fixing this.

It really surprised me when I saw that “adjustment” I had just assumed they used eccentric bolts like the factory designs.

It is actually related to an automatic shifter bezel.
When I swapped to a manual, I rigged up a plate to cover the larger hole needed for a manual by using an sc and mustang plate. It’s not pretty, even though you can’t see it, I know it’s there, and it’s ugly.

How often do/did you empty your oil catch cans? I haven’t opened mine since they were installed. 😆

On normal driving, my small one on Lazarus needed emptying it at oil changes; continued high rpm operation can empty the engine of oil thru the catch-can, and out the intake.
