I am seeing a whole lot of cameras/ elevated unknown sensors set up on the local highways in Michigan, and this sort of use is the only point I can see with them. They are really getting me spooked/ pissed off and I don’t know what they are legitimately for.

We have those in America too. Ever used a toll road that's free if you have 2+ or 3+ people in the car? There are windshield-level cameras on the side of the lane to confirm whether or not you're complying for the free toll. I-77 in Charlotte is like that.

I hate Australia at this point.

I really don't know it well enough. I visited two or three times, but only briefly.

I find his content amusing from the far...but if I lived there, yeah, that story would turn me off big time.

I had to laugh when he said: "Economist, the profession that predicted twelve out of the last three recessions."

There are license plate readers on all the overpasses in knoxville and maryville; I was i formed one morning on my way to work. One of the cops I used to see at hooters eating lunch a lot waved me down at Mcd's at 6 one mornin, and told me what time and how fast I passed each one. I thanked him for the heads up, and bought his breakfast. :)

I rarely log in to Facebook anymore, but I still read the Facebook group from time to time.

If you want to be entertained, read every post from today by a guy named Percy. Truly a legend in his own mind. I'm not sure how else I would pick up knowledge from over 20 years ago and still manage to not make a single RWHP over stock because he doesn't know any mods, only the word "Mustang". Also, did you guys know about SCP? Must be a new site. :rolleyes2:

I used to see those type guys at the Advance auto on saturdays, buying fart pipe accessories, lol. I bought shock hats for a tbird,a water pump for a mustang, and a trans filter for a 2002 gran marquis. When asked by said jackass ho w I liked working on all those cars, I told him," no, those are all for the tbird I'm driving"

Times like this I wish I hadn’t made the security questions for registration so inside baseball, we weeded out the popcorn users lol

He doesn’t have a 5.4 swap in mind by chance?

I think all the comments on his posts are deleted (?). Or were his posts set not to allow commenting from the start?
The comments were turned off on all of his posts afterward by an admin because 80% of the group was flaming him from all angles for being so unapologetically dense. I also took a shot at him in Matthew's thread (which also got locked this morning) for lacking the smarts on how to read a room.

People like him are too lazy to search—or in this case, get a feel for their surroundings before posting. Read the room first before embarrassing yourself by posing like you're hot shit when you're really just shit. He acted like he had all the answers for modding these cars despite the fact that his is stock. It was a bunch of vague and macho bluster that doesn't belong in a group where everyone has done more to their cars than he has. Like I said in Matthew's thread, it's like watching a newly potty-trained kid teaching an adult how to poop.

Imagine having a 10-second track monster or a meticulously resto-modded show car of an MN12 like numerous people in the group do, and you have this n00b idiot telling you that these cars have a bunch of stealth mod potential if you look up Mustang parts while giving no specifics because he hasn't done them and knows nothing about them. His modding "advice" (word salad, really) was so useless that I already knew all that when I was 17. But he'll gladly show off his dumbass smoked headlight covers and unfilled body holes from removing the door cladding. FOH.

Today I cleaned my MAF sensor. Then I went to the spot where I can without fail reproduce the suspected engine knock - and it did not happen!

That's good, though I wonder if the fact that the battery was disconnected during the cleaning has anything to do with it. (PCM forgetting certain learned behaviors which will ultimately return?)

Meanwhile, that spot reminded me of another issue: a suspension clunk. That tight right turn also happens to be very bumpy, with lumps growing up in the asphalt. Here's a video. My apologies, I forgot to turn off the A/C.
The clunk happens once right after the 5-second mark, then again right before the 8-second mark. I can't say for sure, but my impression was that the first came from the left while the second came from the right.

I can reproduce a similar clunk if I make a very turn into the driveway or in very rare cases when making a very tight parking maneuver (i.e., steering all the way left/right).

There's no noise during normal driving and no noise from just turning the steering wheel.

Thoughts?

Usually the LCA ball joints groan and squeal when they're on death's door. Those are easy because they speak up when turning and when the suspension compresses and rebounds. "Rattle" on a bumpy road is almost always sway bar endlinks and/or bushings. Tie rods will manifest as play in the wheel or wandering/squirrely feeling at speed, especially when going over an uneven road.

Something like that could be a suspension bolt/nut not torqued to spec. At the very least, it's free to rule those out, assuming you have the tools!

My front suspension on both cars are giving me warnings around the same time in the last month. Dark days..

So yesterday was my long-time friend's birthday. Yes, Halloween. Anyway, I called and left him a VM. I sent him a follow-up text wishing him a Happy Birthday. I didn't post to his FB. I didn't just text him, I called him.

About an hour later he returns my call. He tells me that I'm the only person, family included, that actually called him to wish him a happy birthday. Not even his family called him. Everyone either posted to his FB or texted him.

It made me sad for him that nobody took the time of day to give him a call. Like not even his parents called him. It made him happy to know that I still remembered and took the time of day to actually call him on his birthday.

If he were closer (he's in GA), I know we'd hang out more.

Getting older sucks. My birthday was yesterday, too. I don't consider myself "old" yet, but each year I have noticed the number of texts decrease despite not feeling like I've lost friends.

Calls are non-existent outside of the parents. I would say much of that is natural due to people who were more apt to placing a call having left the planet.

I'm not on Facebook, so I made it a point to start putting my friends' and relatives' birthdays in my iCloud calendar when I learn about them. I get a notification on that day and depending on who it is, I call or text them.

Although I am on FB and other social media platforms, I don't frequent them enough anymore.

I do the same with adding people's birthdays to their contact card on my contact list. Google reminds me if I tend to forget.

I try to tell people that I dont like text messages more than one sentence long. Might piss some people off but I think its a great rule

I'm weird. I hate talking on the phone; I am not great with words in person. Stuff comes out of my mouth before I've finished thinking about what I want to say, and words get jumbled up in-transit and out-of-order. I can't recall what words I've spoken mere seconds after I've spoken them and I'm onto the next thought/sentence.

I've been forced to talk and meet with clients in person for years so I'm less uncomfortable about it than I was but I still feel out of my element. When I type, I do a much better job of formulating thoughts and getting the point across as intended... :zshrug:

It’s specifically phone I feel extremely uncomfortable with. In person I can be a social butterfly once I’m comfortable. Texts(email, texts, forum posts) I’m much more my true self but for some reason a phone call specifically is just torture, doesn’t matter who I’m talking to. You get a much more realistic “me” in text form.

Interesting to see everyone's perspective!

I love phone calls myself. I think I like how they have a start and finish. Text conversations often just sort of slowly fizzle out.

I also tend to like concise communication. Phone conversations are like a ballgame; you have someone's full attention. The same conversation seems to take ages via text.

Mind you, I dislike voice-mail. Then I'd rather get a text. Oh, and I don't mind sexting at all!
