I find it weird that people want to blame Trump for shit going down the drain (not a trump fan btw) but weren’t saying anything when Biden was fucking it up also, I think we should get away from the 2 party system because it obviously is not working.

I know at the end, the reality is, it’s the ultra Zionist rich vs the poor. It’s always been this way and until people rise up shit won’t change. I wish we were a direct democracy rather than a representative democracy, that would wipe out the party system entirely, as well as the corruption and partisanship that comes with it and the president would be a leader of the people rather than their party. We only have representatives because carrier pigeons were the fastest form of communication in the 18th century lol

I actually agree with most of what you say, I have about 3 issues that tend to align with the Democratic Party but the leadership has never fulfilled them(at least competently)in my lifetime, and pretty much the same with the Republican Party for that matter, there’s certain topics I’ll sound like a Bernie bro, and other topics I’ll sound like MAGA. Hence why I tend not to want to talk politics; everyone will hate me lol.

That said, Trump deserves every ounce of hate he gets. He’s certainly “accomplished” more than any president I can remember but absolutely zero of it has actually trickled into a better way of life for any of us. About the only thing I don’t mind was killing EV subsidies and neutering CAFE… but everything else? Eh?

His power is his charisma, people who love him eat it up, people who hate him can’t get him out of their heads. He’s no different than what you (rightly) criticize Democrats for; lots of promises, poor delivery, and weird 180° policies that are implemented (remember staying out of foreign affairs? LOL).

I agree Democrats suck, but every Republican who criticized Trump ended up sucking him off not once but twice when he surprise, surprise got elected out of the pool of dimwits the RNC put out. Trump to the Republicans is their Lancer EVO IX, an iconic figure of an absolute failure of a brand (Mitsubishi). Trump could have just as easily been a democrat 20-30 years ago, and guess what, every current dem representative would be sucking him off just as hard as Ted Cruz et al if he did, while the republicans would be flexing their Christian backed morals.

Thanks for sharing your experience and your thoughts. It’s helpful to know where others are coming from in their beliefs. Yeah, that’s messed up about your Mom. Sorry to read that. I bet it’s even worse in today’s environment.

There’s a lot to unpack here, and technically we’re not supposed to be talking politics here. As long as it remains civil, on point without swinging wildly into conspiracies, gaslighting, unfounded claims and pure hate speech towards others with people getting personally butt hurt. I’m willing to listen and discuss. We’ve already lost members over that and I’d hate to see anyone else decide to leave over conflicting ideology or a personal beef with anyone.

Guys, in our society, the only way to get rich, is to get an education, or a trade that pays well. usually union-based.
I went to tech school, worked as an electronic tech for 35 years; most I made was ~50k.
I got an associate degree, and due to experience and knowlege, was able to get an engineering job, and topped out there at 85k. in my 50's.
If I'd had a BS instead, I'd have made 200k, for the same job. The phd's made 500k.
Money=education. It doesn't mean they're better at stuff.
My great-grandparents were German immigrants in the 1800's, and Irish immigrants in 1880.
Then as now, there are ways to legally immigrate.
Hell, few Americans are American, if you exclude birthright citizenship.

I'm actually a .40 s&w fan. I prefer it's middle ground. Unfortunately 10mm is taking some of is market space, but the biggest issue is the prevalence of 9mm. Manufacturers seem to be pushing it as just as good as .40 due to modern ammo. That's what they tell you, but if 9mm ammo is that much better wouldn't 40 be just as much better?

I do have some .380, .45ACP and .45 long colt as well. I don't want to buy a 9mm or 10 mm just because I have enough calibers to stock ammo for in my safe.

The .45 LC is a Ruger Blackhawk capable of running +p loads. If Iowa ever becomes bear country, I'm covered. Although the +p loads are a b!tch on my wrist!

@Trunk Monkey thank you for the kind words, at this point it is what it is, she’s been here 35 years and definitely not going back, she’s become Americanized haha plus being in socal and a predominantly Mexican community she ain’t got much to worry about, and of course I’d love to hear your feedback, that’s why I love the US because of freedom of expression and opinion without the need to resort to blows. Unfortunately once again, it’s difficult to have conversations with some democrats because all they do is call you a bigot rascist transphobe and that’s that end of discussion. I agree he’s a showman, if he has one talent/skill I won’t question it’s that(I mean so do several historical figures I won’t mention the names of, but…). I think in general it’s pretty cringe to idolize anybody though. I hated the cult around Obama as much as the cult around Trump; we’re supposedly the most individualistic nation so why do we become such leghumpers to deities???

And #2 his current retribution campaign against citizens who voted against him (or states that went blue like yours and mine) is utterly despicable bullshit. I spent Christmas in Colorado and all that’s in the news there is Trump withholding this and that from the state, including clean water for the southern part, which ironically is MAGA country, even Lauren Boebert is pissed off about it.

I think democrats are weak in opposition and have their heads up their asses but it doesn’t make Trump the good guy.

This is the truth. One side seeming more egregiously worse than another in the present can flip on a dime because ultimately neither is out for more than either power or money. It doesn’t even mean a few people dedicated to their parties are, but their peers overwhelmingly outnumber them. Personally I’ve just taken a nihilistic attitude towards all of it, just look out for yourself and your loved ones and assume any outsider in power doesn’t really care about you or your loved ones without return.

Also Obama deported the most immigrants in history, ran out of bombs and don’t fix our relations with the Middle East.

Also I don’t think Biden handled the Covid situation any better than any other president would have, lots of people lost their jobs, the economy hit the shitter and the only people making money were the ultra rich corporations. Also I don’t believe the Covid death numbers because I know plenty of people who WERE dying from cancer and stuff and because they had Covid it was considered a Covid death, my mom personally had family members who were RAN OVER and killed in Mexico but since they had Covid and were marked as Covid deaths. Another example is Gavin newsom telling everybody to shelter in place and not go out BUT he went to a friends birthday party, hypocrite, he was saying that he had to attend because his friend put alot of effort into the party. Rules for thee but not for me. Hillary had nothing do with the Brady bill. She was a first lady at the time and held no elected office. You can't blame her for that. Yes, Bill was president at the time and did sign the legislation into law. It's worth noting that the bill was drafted and co-sponsored by both Republicans and Democrats and that both Republicans and Democrats in congress voted to pass it. Having said that, the Brady bill had nothing to do with your registration.

After looking into this it appears that Brady had no bearing on your uzi. If anything it was unregisterable under the 1986 Firearm Owners’ Protection Act (FOPA), specifically the Hughes Amendment of 1986. The registration was already closed for 7 years before the Brady bill passed.

It's unfortunate that the republicans don’t want Mexicans/Latinos here and are so openly xenophobic about it. It's not the Democrats that only want Mexicans here to do the jobs they don’t want, the help basically. It's big business that needs people to fill those jobs and Americans that are either unavailable or too lazy to take those jobs creating the worker shortages that needs to be filled.

Unless those Mexicans are legalized citizens and registered they can't vote either way. Contrary to popular belief there are strong checks in place to prevent illegal voting. The widely manufactured doubt about voting and elections is pure BS. It's really, really unfortunate. It's a tactic right out of the fascist/authoritarian playbook to weaken confidence in democratic systems.

Manufactured doubt is an insidious tool. If you're not familiar with the term it basically means that you don't have to disprove the facts just create doubt about what the facts are. It's widely used by authoritarians and big business for all sorts of nefarious purposes such as the tobacco industry and smoking or big oil and global warming, etc.

Absolutely, it all comes down to big business and the ultra-wealthy running our country. The religious denomination(s) of those people is irrelevant. Yes, peacefully protesting rarely changes things but sometimes it does. The civil rights movement of the 1960's was very successful. The India independence movement lead by Gandhi, the Anti-Apartheid Movement in South Africa, the Women’s Suffrage movement of the early 1900's, etc.

No. No one wants to take 2A rights away, no one is going to take your 2A rights or guns away. That's culture war BS to stir the pot and sway voters.
