Door seals

Anyone have one nice door seal sitting around they'd sell. I bought brand new ones and my doors shut horribly hard. I got the passenger side sitting well, but the driver side is binding at the front sure to the thickness of the new gasket. The only other option is to bend the door flange in, which I'd rather not do.

If I was at a car show, I'd be embarrassed to close my door, because I have to slam it so hard. It's crazy.

Roll down a window slightly; the tbird had new ones, and they would not shut unless I opened a window.

They had been installed recently, probably that dealer.
When I bought it, it had warped rotors, bad trans,bad shocks; I talked them from $5000 to $2900, then really pissed them off by paying cash,lol. Broke the sales guy's heart,lol.

Incidentally, my passenger side seal is actually a junkyard find.

Most seals have damage around where people would step. People who for some reason step on it...

I haven't been to the yards recently due to weather, but mostly due to lack of new inventory.

If that new seal doesn't fit, I would return it. It shouldn't be hard to close the door.

I think I have one I could spare. I'll have to look and report back on its condition sometime this weekend.

Since they were all previously installed and stayed put for years, some sections of the seals are deformed where it clips onto the door frame in a way that they won't stay firmly seated in certain orientations.

I tried one of them on my car and the section I positioned along the vertical rear edge of the door wasn't very snug at all, so sometimes it would pop out and prevent the door from closing if I didn't notice it getting loose. They'll usually seat fine in at least one position after you rotate the entire strip around the door edge, but I always tried to get it to start/end beneath the plastic door sill where it would be partially covered and effectively locked in place.
