So the vinyl idea didn't work out. The gelcoat started eating it and would have made a horrible face on the mold.

Do you have a name for the car? If not, Phoenix would be legit.
My name for her is Rowdy but Im thinking her nickname will be that lol

I applaude your effort. Truly a labor of love. I think all of us have some or we wouldn't be here sharing. Keep it up.👍
It's more that it still owes me for the money I've put into it lol

Imagine if there were some bold graphic that could commemorate it :irocz:

Seeing that reminds me of when my dad refused to spend the money on a replacement decal when he set his hood on fire accidentally ~25 years ago. So he made stencils on tracing paper and painted it the hard way.

All that is missing is the flames out the tail pipes.

This?

So does that make moonroof equipped cars more prone to rust in that area?

No. It’s a shitty design, make no mistake but it’s a coincidence as non moonroof cars all get the same rocker rot. Most of the water comes in through the openings in the inner rockers and the poor drainage out and the foam inside the rockers acting as both a barrier and a sponge to hold water localizes it. Moonroofs leakage adds a fractional percentage of extra moisture into the rockers, I think it’s just a cope non-moonroof owners use even though their cars are as rotten as ours 😆

Yeah, back in the 80s those Trans Am Decals were ALOT of money. If I recall right it was like $800-1000 back then. I recall many repainted Trans Ams with no Phoenix on the hood.

You made a lightbulb go off in my head why the Trans Am in Short circuit had such a weird looking screaming chicken.
