No mistakes, just happy accidents

I know I'm not exactly close to you, but I've got a parts car you could have. It's also rusty, but I don't think nearly as bad as yours was/is, plus it's straight...interior is stripped minus dash, it will be a roller, it is a 91 5 speed.

I’ve only seen one other MN12 with rust there that severe, that’s real nasty.

If you wanted, you could patch that. That said, it's another nail in the coffin. Sucks

I'm gonna weld a plate in and be done with it. But given I know the car is dying for certain now, I'm gonna be throwing it a lot harder.

Can you post some photos? I am looking for another chassis in general

I'll edit this later with a photo, but I believe the cause of the rust is a poorly placed water drain.

It starts from the wiper cowl drain hole and gets worse from there. There is no foam in that area. There's some close, but it's still inches away and that area has no issues.

I recommend anyone who has the time to pull the dash and HVAC box and check. I'll be doing the same on my gold car to hopefully catch something if it's there.IMG_20241229_104536592.jpgIMG_20241229_104543715.jpg

Working on it now. Cutting all the shit, then plating it. IMG_20241229_104506524.jpgIMG_20241229_104443944.jpgIMG_20241229_105527299.jpg

I'd put some POR-15 on between your welds on the rust parts you didn't cut out. Just to make it last a touch longer.

It's really too bad it wasn't the late 90s when t-bird NASCAR plastics were everywhere and cheap. This has become the perfect car to put a plastic front and rear on.

So the writing is on the wall on this one. After you get her back up, at what point will you know "it's time" before she can no longer be?

If it has another bad crash or if it starts cracking apart.

Can someone give me a full wiring schematic for the engine bay, circle connector pass through, and dash harness on a 1990 SC? Gonna start thinning out what I don't need as well.

IIRC @jco1385 has copies of all the FSMs and EVTMs, he may be able to help. Tagging him in.

Reinforced. Need to weld a bar in the center but then it's done. Will make the quarter supports once the fiberglass is done.

Also had to pick up an S13 piece for a buddy, so I wanted to see how a rear swap would look.

And T56s look like M5R2s.

Those kits are like the kid's erector sets, but for adults.:) Ours contained no plastic, just a bunch of sharp metal and boxes of bolts.

If assembled correctly, and passes tech inspection for whoever required it. Otherwise, its welding practice for one, lol.
Nice thing about it, you can weld, cut, weld until it passes.

Finding out the cage was measured in a non-sunroof car, so it won't fit correctly if I try to keep it. And where the door bars wants to land is right in the wire channel, so the plate is on but I'll have to box it.

Here is a link to the complete 1990 large-format wiring diagram set in the highest resolution I could get it. I also included the standard circuit chart (by number and color) from the front of the book. I figured this would be the most valuable to you for nit-picking the whole car. If you can't see anything clearly, or if you need anything from any of the other manuals just hit me up.
