Post a picture you took today

Always find shit a year after I need it 😆image.jpg

Yes it’s printed paper, yes it’s crudely cut sheetmetal, yes the paper is held to it with Elmer’s, yes I weatherproofed it with packing tape but it worked! 😂

I bought a kit from mhs, with the solid lifter. The one I made was cd sized, and sucked, lol.

Not a great picture as I was 200 yards away, but this is an albino deer. It's actually a young buck, but I could only tell that through my binoculars. It was about a half mile from the body shop. Likely never see another one.

You could have crafted a legendary outfit from that!

A couple pics between last night and just now.

Last night I took both my kids driving for the first time. I took my son (12 as of Tuesday) out first and he got to drive the Honda. The experience was great except for having to also compensate for the compensating AFR due to catalytic converter and O2 sensors. He was able to catch on pretty quick because of all the go-karting experience he's already had.

Then, I took my daughter (15) out in Gold Bird. While it runs perfectly, the steering is much more difficult on Gold Bird as I've discussed before (still haven't looked at it 😅). My daughter is much more cautious than my son about driving, but she did alright with her first time driving.

As for right now, my son is competing in his first bike race event. We've been here at Lake Perris since 8am and it's been quite the event. Since this location is closest to our area, we're considered "Home Team" and all the parents are required to volunteer to help setup and demo at the end of the event. Still though, it's been a great experience so far.

(Picture upload is failing because of a "praising response"?)

How thick was the ice? 🤔

This leads me to a question: with all the road salt, and my car being my daily, how well do car washes actually clean, given that they recycle (salty) water?

The pressure is what really does the cleaning, Just knock off the layer of salt that’s sticking to everything and your car will be fine.

Once you get it clean, apply something like fluid film in the bottom of the doors, inside the rockers, etc. you have to stop air and moisture from getting to the metal.

They recycle the water but the good ones should have a system that hopefully removes the salt. If Edmonton starts using more calcium chloride on the roads then I am buying a bottle of this stuff, I will put it in a pump sprayer and treat the car before I wash it, in the hopes of keeping my daily driver rust free like it is now

Took my son karting this morning. He had a P4 finish in the racing league on a track that was new to him. I was damn proud of him. He’s a really good driver.

K1? I know that there's a K1 track in your part of NC. P4 first time on a track is quite the feat, that's for sure. Maybe he'll be a future F1 or IMSA superstar?

Pics from today's event that my boy participated in.

Although there is a K1 track in Concord, this one is Not K1. This track is Victory lane Karting.

The foam inside the rockers and salt/mud/dirt/water getting into and sitting in the nooks and crannies in the rockers under the rear side windows gets them. I pump waste oil and spray white lithium grease into them every fall although the winter came on so quickly up here I didn't do it this year. Hopefully there is enough residue from the previous 7 years to keep it safe.

Those tracks are sick @Trunk Monkey !

Next time I'm out there we should go 😁!

Yeah, definitely LMK the next time you're headed this way.

This one (Up in Moorsville, NC) is my personal favorite. My son and I have been going to this one for years. We've mastered it. It's a very fast course with a great mix of sharp turns, sweepers and straightaways.

Iobe going go-karting. It's the closest thing I'll ever get to actually driving a race car I think, lol. 🥲
