Midwest deteriorating metal.... I had some small rust bubbles showing where the rust was beneath the paint. It was on the rockers and I know that would have been $3k to fix. Plus within a couple years the box would need the sides replaced for likely more money. Decided spending $7k or more in the next 2 years on a truck that will depreciate was no different than having a new truck.

Fortunately our pet-sitter is my wife's assistant and well-versed in aggressive animal handling, so getting him out was just another day! We definitely gave her a tip. :)

I've seen trash pandas much bigger than that.I keep 00 buckshot for those. rabies is their goto drug.
They can do a number on a pet. Kaatu has more sense than to mess with them, thankfully.

Is it bad that I kinda hate that there is a lineup of bone stock mavericks that are nothing special. I don't want to bar anyone from coming to a show, but buying a brand new car and being in massive debt doesn't make you a car guy  or make your car interesting

it depends, here they are at dealers for 40,000 to 50,000 dollars cad (and sometimes even more) which to me is super expensive for what it is, and I personally don't think most people can afford that without an unreasonable loan amount. I guess that's my frame of reference anyhow.
