Up early for an alignment.
I have an appointment today for an alignment. Cost is $130 for 1 year warranty .. they want $220 for life time. What's the going rate where you're at ??

That sounds really reasonable to me. I would go lifetime as upgrades/changes to suspension parts are inevitable on my car and truck. I feel like I spent that on my truck a few years back with no warranty.I have an appointment today for an alignment. Cost is $130 for 1 year warranty .. they want $220 for life time. Same with my truck. Pretty insane that 30 minutes of work is $200, but pay of it is paying for the machine, I guessThis is on my Trailblazer SS .. I replaced the entire front suspension with OEM parts and that's pretty much as far as I go. There are only two points of adjustment, the lower control arm mounts and the tie rod ends.![]()

Nice shot!
Thank you. Yes. And right side up. Those who were flying their flags upside down last year seriously pissed me off.Thank you for hanging it the correct way with the stars on the left.
I fly a Tennessee flag year round. Had a NC one on the porch when I was there. Not much for Lee Greenwood to be proud of the last couple decades.

It can be really tedious to set up, but I used the string method to align the LTD wagon after I rebuild the front end several years ago. I took it to an alignment shop because I didn't trust myself and it had brand new tires. I gave them alignment specs and instructions since it has aftermarket caster/camber plates. They of course ignored all of that and used the factory alignment specs. Turns out my homemade string alignment was actually pretty close. Like, really close. And that was just me with some jack stands, string, a level, tape measure, and a lot of patience. The only thing I couldn't really measure was caster. I think if I had a decent bubble gauge I could do caster and not need an alignment shop at all.I think it takes longer to set the truck up on the alignment machine than to do the actual alignment. Cost of business. I just had a smog inspection a few days ago - still $60 .. I told my guy he needs to charge more money; even though its a 10 minute job.![]()

One single jack stand under the subframe on a slanted driveway.
Yeah, that'll do.

In all the times I’ve been pulled over they’ve never looked at the VIN.If you get pulled over, do cops check your vehicle's VIN on a traffic stop outside of the registration you provide them?
I'm having some "sketchy" ideas![]()
