So the wheels were a bust because the lugs were so tight I could jump on my breaker bar and almost bent it, also the lugs started rounding offbut it was a good try, I did find a Milton tire gauge they gave me for free so it wasn’t a complete bust
Get that 145 MPH Speedo too. Grab the whole instrument cluster for that matter.
Addendum to this. I took the wheels for my future daughter in-law's Matrix in to another Costco to have them mount Blizzaks on those. I go up to the counter and after they ask for keys to the car I let them know I'm just dropping off wheels for new tires to be mounted. Okay, no problem, sign this, let me enter this into the computer, yada, yada, yada. Guy gets to a form on the computer? "What color is it?". I repeated, I'm just dropping off wheels. He says, yeah, but I have to enter something. Okay, pink. Finally rolling 17's on the T-Bird! Long, hassle of a story getting them on. Wheels are from a late model Maverick which happen to have identical specs (lug pattern, hub bore, offset) to MN12 cars. It's like they had an old Thunderbird or Cougar laying around when they decided to design the Maverick wheels and suspension. I needed 17"s to clear the future Cobra brake install.
These are 215/55R17 Blizzaks ordered through Costco. Took the wheels in this morning to have them mounted. Everything was going fine until they called and told me they couldn't install them because Ford never offered 17" wheels on these cars and my car would promptly drive off the road and explode in a ball of flames if I ran them. Actually, first they tried to tell me they can't install tires more than 3% different in size from stock tires. When I pointed out that stock tire size on these is/was 26.6" and these are 26.3" so it should be fine, then they rambled something about aspect ratio and they could only install 225/60R16 or 205/70R15 tires. I was pretty ticked. Called a shop just down the road from me on my way back and they mounted and balanced them for me. Got them installed tonight.
Took it around the block to disprove their explosion and ball of flames theory. Came around the last corner to my house and a wheel fell off and the car exploded in a ball of flames, nope. Everything was fine. Pulled it back in, retorqued the lugs and put it to bed. Moral of the story: if you plan to go off script with wheel/tire size at a chain store it might be easier to just take the wheels in, find a car that came stock with the tire size you are having installed and tell them it is going on that (in this case a 2016 Chrysler 200 would have sufficed). Strangely if I go on their website, they'll happily sell me 17 or 18 inch wheels for this car no problem. Plan to get a quote for 17" wheels and tires from another Costco and take that to the store I was at today with questions.
Real curious to see how they do in the ice and snow. I haven't had dedicated snow tires on a car since the early 90's when snow tires looked like mud bog tires. Undecided if I'll try to make the Maverick center caps work. They grab onto a lip on the lug nuts which mine don't have. Might rig something up with magnets epoxied to the inside of the caps as I've seen others do.

The speedo was smashed (not sure how or why) and the interior was pretty rough with lots of broken parts. -30° C makes 35 yr old plastic VERY brittle to say the least.Get that 145 MPH Speedo too. Grab the whole instrument cluster for that matter.
Not exactly sure what the tweed seats are but these were pretty rough to the point where I don't think anyone would have wanted them. I guess if they're rare. And I doubt it wil last that long, prob a month or month and a half, they remove cars through decently quick especially ones that look picked over, this one is pretty fresh so I might consider going back if it warms up a tad2-3 months tops. If it has the tweed seats get those, those were 91-93 only
5 speedFive speed or batomatic? It does have the mostly out of production 89-93 crank position sensor, and ignition module. IRCM might be worth picking up as well.

Ok good to know, IRRC these were all leather, and again, kinda torn and cracked so yeah but I will now certainly look out for them!Tweeds were the standard cloth option those years, but rather than the usual velour or mouse fur cloth they were made of tweed cloth which is very durable, they also have Tbird logos embossed on the upper vinyl sections. Best seats these cars had IMO, I had a grey set in my Cougar
