Post a picture you took today

My driveway curb alone would take the entirely of the ground effects off 😆

ran a little experiment with the crv, I filled up about a week ago and went about driving it, today the gaslight came on (that was the goal) and I was able to immediately fill up to see how many liters need to drain before the light comes on. Turns out the light came on at 44.605l out of a ~58L tank, so they leave quite the reserve in there when the light comes on, not that I ever want to have the light come on (I understand the gas cools the pump and so I don't usually go below a half tank esp in the winter) but what's interesting is that I had went 393.3km (244.4 mi) when the light came on so 11.35 L/100km (20.7 mpg). With the combined average being listed on the Canada fuel consumption guide at 10.9 l/100km (using the updated 5 cycle test) I want to see if I can get closer to the listed average, although it was about 32°F for most of this driving so I guess I would expect it to be a bit lower. But I want to change the spark plugs as I think they are original to the car (116,000km) and I wonder if changing them will net me any fuel economy?

Little fucker. I wonder if he got his foot or his head caught first.

Last summer I caught… or I should say partly caught… a mole with one of those. I thought I was going to a mouse, but nope, the trap got the little guy enough to fuck him up and leave a trail of blood from the trap to the garden 5 feet away where it fell over squirming in agony. I had to beat it to death with a shovel thereafter, not my finest moment.

I had more satisfying success with bigger rat traps at my Mom’s place in Denver several years ago, snapped both their necks clean, never been back since

We have some big ones here, I am unsure if they are norway rats or roof rats.

From what I heard from the neighbors who also got them out of nowhere there was a closed restaurant up the creek their townhomes are along that got demolished and presumably sent the rats scurrying along.

I think they were roof rats, though they were big. I’ve seen the really big norway rats wandering around stupidly in downtown Chicago, I thought one was a cat at first

My boy soldering his first full PCB board.

For his birthday, I bought him a little DIY radio build where it had all the components needed to build it, and he built it. Alongside the PCB board, I also got him new soldering iron tips, copper wool cleaner thing, powdered flux, and tin.

He got the little radio working.... mostly. For some reason, the speaker is pretty quiet but a headset sounds perfect. I'm thinking he got something in there wired backwards or something.

It's probably 1 or 2 W, a lot of first kits are based around the lm386, it sounds great in a helmet.

Look for a kit. You need 2 for stereo.
First, I'd look on ebay for a power supply, batteries get expensive, when you're figuring out "What's that smell?", lol

I use one of these a bunch.

This one is good if you also want to use digital ic's :

I'd buy both myself if I wasn't good on power supplies. :)

I also bought one of these to rechrome a set of wheels, lol.

I built this, because I think I am smarter than them. Stairway to heaven. I can get them to walk up one particular 2x4, so I modified it for them.

a neon sign transformer would be perfect, or one of our coils and some circuitry. :)
Or just adopt a cat. I adopted a cat.

I think these things could beat my cat up.
Cats are inside, these things are underneath, rodenticides are banned up here. So it is every man for himself, I need to seal up the holes so they can't get under there.

Time to buy some bait and .22 ammo. :)
I've got a 4-20 zoom scope on my .22, a Ruger 10/22. Trash pandas are hard to kill without a headshot, lol. I've got 10 a night before. :( One complained one night while I was dumping trash on his head, so I expressed my take on the situation with the .380, went inside, covered myself with off, grabbed the .22, and set up in the garage. Smear peanut butter on the lid, and wait.
Racoons are often rabid here, so gunfire is expected, lol.
I've had to take out rabid dogs a few times, and an aggressive deer once. Not fun. That's why I like large magazines. :)

They couple signals to the screen with plastic foam, that has vertical conductive channels in it sandwiched between the pcb and the glass. 1 speck of dirt=dead pixel; wrong color is shorted to another.

Are they serial number tracked? Will you swap the whole thing or will you need to swap the faceplates before sending the defective part back?
