What are you Listening To?

This is the first time I opened this thread, and I barely know any of these acts. I do know Sandra and La Bouche. Oh, and the Beatles.

Let's see, what do I listen to? Not much while driving. But here it goes.

Lara Fabian:

Falco:

Michael Jackson

Eros Ramazzotti and Tina Turner

Grace Jones:

Rick Astley is one of my favorites and I don't care how much flack I take for that.

I also had that Kylie album, too. For reasons.

I hate modern country music with a passion, but I like finding old country sounds by new artists.

This is a beautiful summoning of that Gram Parsons / Emmylou Harris sound to the modern day by a pair of Swedish girls, of all things. Gorgeous voices:

I always laugh at how weedy the singer looks versus the great sound he and the band make overall. The way they ride out the ending is just perfect:

The lead on this one described this as Nancy Sinatra crafting a theme for a Clint Eastwood western. A long, slow, mournful dirge with a haunting lead, definitely the best one to play loud so that it just wraps around you:

You guys have some saw some country music up there. I love Blue Rodeo.

I saw him live in the civic auditorium, which is pretty small. I was great; He kept asking for requests, an I was with the buddy that owned a record store, So after picking most of the playlist, we got to go backstage and help him finish our bottle of Jack, lol. We had fun!

Always been a fan, I had a best of cassette when I was 6!

Never knew about these guys back when they were new. Since they were on the Swan Song label, apparently some people thought that Bonham was drumming on the tracks. You can really hear his influence on this drummer. Fucking grooving rock song, love these guys.

I loved Riggs ever since they had those 2 songs ("Radar Rider", "Heartbeat") on the "Heavy Metal" movie soundtrack. This is a song I stumbled on while searching about the band. Maybe my favorite Riggs song, so of course it's available nowhere except Soundcloud far as I can tell. And only MP3, dammit! I so wish this song (and the others) were available on a CD somewhere.

Love this song. I once heard a version with an air raid/tornado/storm waning siren at the beginning. It always gives me goosebumps when I hear that sound. In a nuclear conflict it is the Sirens song of the apocalypse.

One of the very underrated progressive bands from back in the day -

My brother always says that Saga is what Oingo Boingo would sound like if they could play real music, hahaahaha. I agree, the singers sound very similar, Michael Sadler is really good. Man, the guitarist, Ian Crichton, has an amazing style, never heard anything like that before. I also love the tone of the drums, very deep.

Just a reminder for those who care about their Spotify Wrapped, the data pull for 2024 ends on 10/31.

So if you've got something you want to bury deep in your top 100 like the Bluey soundtrack, now's the time.

I heard about this on the local radio station this afternoon… which they promptly played “mama incoming home” fucking idiots. Get better Jake!

God damn, RIP Paul Di’anno, THE BEST singer Iron Maiden had, an opinion I’ve literally had fights over. I’m sorry but those first two albums were all killer no filler masterpieces, whatever his technical limitations were he fit the band perfectly and the band played better music with him, I never could get into anything post-Bruce beyond a song here and there.
