What did you do with your Thunderbird Today?

But my 97 also has the keypad on the door, the rem0te fuel door and courtesy lights in the doors.

Is that the white one in your picture? 30th? If so that’s interesting being the 2nd run of the 30th.

Got the new (reman) caliper on. Very frustrating I couldn’t find one with the Cobra lettering so the right side of my car is going to be just a little cooler than the left side lol

Luckily I found a can of the cast iron engine paint I used on all of the other calipers so that’s a match. This stuff is an almost dead ringer for the factory grey finish(which this reman remarkably still had but with lots of scratches)

That's usually a maladjusted parking brake, but I had a caliper fail and not retract.

Ordered them front LCAs from RA for my Gold Bird. Still need a few other bits, but those can wait.

Will be in Thursday next week.

Awhile back I was wondering if there existed a mn12 rear disk that matched the diameter of the cobra disk used in the hubswap.
Digging thru RA, I found one. It is a Sport brakes disk. I'm hoping I can use it, with the fast ed brackets. I'll take pix.

The sport rear brake disc is exactly the same as the LX one so be prepared to be disappointed

I’d actually rather have the opposite, a 5x114.5” pattern vented rear disc that fits the stock calipers without relocation brackets

The invoice says sport, and it's physically larger dia. I got 3 rear disks. 2 std, 1 bigger. I'll take pix.
I got a non stang cobra magnet.

So if those physically existed then shouldn’t there be sport specific rear calipers then? Just sayin.

There must be. These disks are 20mm bigger dia. It looks like the fast ed brackets will work.

I think you may be seeing this description and it is slightly confusing, but the diameters mentioned pertains to the front disc rotors, not the rears. The rear sport discs, as stated, are exactly the same as the non-sport discs.

Dropped some new lower controll arms in the t-bird today! Good news: it no longer pulls to the right when braking. Bad news: it’s desperately begging for an alignment. We forgot to mark the camber bolts when taking off the first control arm, so now I’ve got like 5 extra degrees of camber on the passenger side front tire. My wheel also looks like this while going straight now so that’s a plus.

Took us about 3 hrs to do the whole job, ended up needing a torch for the passenger side bolts on the shocks, cut em in half to get it off, drivers side was nice to us and was done fairly quick.

Bringing it into the shop next Wednesday with my buddy to do an alignment on both our cars, il probably upload what the results ends up being.

Very glad with how it came out, no longer pulls to the right and drives a lot smoother and more rigid to the road

Washed the 95 XR7 after accumulating much dirt and debris from my parking garage power washing while cars were parked in the garage. My new garden hose foam cannon from Chemical Bros. works well. Unfortunately my hose faucet broke when trying g to turn it off, so now I have a bigger project on my hands tomorrow. I was hoping to fix my internet tomorrow....oh well.

I'd recommend the settings in the article; Like it. It's inside the limits, but not where most shops would set it.

Nice work. Were the old ball joints loose? Cutting those lower shock bolts is almost par for the course for a northern car. Monroe used to make a service kit to replace them, but I don't know if it is available any more.

Debating whether I should change the mufflers again, I feel as if it’s super loud now I converted to a 5 speed. I’ve been through so many but I can never fully make up my mind.
Currently; it has Kooks mid length headers, o/r x pipe, and 2 Carven R mufflers.
I’ve run flowmaster, not a fan of the drone, and I’ve had magnaflow, too quiet for me.

What do you guys think?

You have a Yankee cluster, but you are in Canada.

If you want to spend a boat load of money, Corsa exhaust is my favorite sound. But $700 for a pair of mufflers of crazy.

Did you have delta flow 40 series Flowmaster? I've never minded the little bit of drone with them. Second favorite sounds for me.

That was the very first muffler I put on this car, the drone was just unbearable.

I’ve been looking into black widow. But it’s hard to find them on a 4.6

I find that loud, just like ride quality, is too subjective. It sounds loud to me, but I'm a tired grumpy old man who doesn't like loud noises. Maybe 30 years ago I would have gone for that. I have the Magnaflow down pipes with cats and Borla ProXS mufflers out back in the '97. It sounds good at idle and just loud enough when you are on it. Cruising on the highway it is quiet enough that you can have a conversation in the car without raising your voice. No drone at all.

Being louder since the 5-speed is purely from your subconscious enjoying the sound and making you rev a little higher with a little more throttle between shifts in spite of your conscious objections. 😝

Plus you mentioned a bit ago you haven’t driven it as much, so you’re probably just not used to it. It’s hard to judge the actual volume of loudness from the video but the exhaust tone is on point, I’d be hesitant to potentially trade that off for more quietness.

Get some late model Mustang GT mufflers or some GT500 take offs. Probably find some cheap if you wanted to test them. I posted a video of mine. Kooks, x pipe, and cats. No drone, good deep rumble.
