What did you do with your Thunderbird Today?

I put premium in the cougar for the first time in years. It hasn’t been under $4 in ages!

That sucks that you only have 92 and it's e10. I filled up yesterday at $3.55 for 93 e0. From seeing what everyone else posts it seems like the area around me is one of the cheaper spots in the country. I saw regular 87 yesterday for $2.39 but that was at a Thorntons but the have e15 and only offer up to 92.

93 is widely available here but for whatever reason at Woodmans 92 is “only” a buck more than regular, most other stations 93 is $1.30 more than regular which is just ludicrous for 1 octane point.

My engine really doesn’t need it either, it doesn’t ping on 87, but I want to get some datalogs in with the wideband so I may as well give myself a safety net

Most places around here are also $1.20-$1.40 more for premium. Fortunately there's a shell about 15 minutes away that only marks it up $.80 and is usually one of the cheaper places around here. There have been times when the difference in price from the shell down the street to the other one are $.70. It's a $.40 difference to begin with if the same price, but the farther one is usually $.20-$.30 cheaper for regular to begin with.

Are we bragging about gas prices still ??

Ive got you all beat for highest prices in the USA if anybody wants to start another dick measuring contest .. 😉

Ok that's actually insanely cool, can you share more of that? I see its boosted, looks like a magnuson blower. Very nice

Here's the rest. 6.2L LS3 with the Magnuson TVS 2300, a couple internal upgrades, and a CARB legal tune with over 500 rwhp.

This is what I replaced the 94 SC with. The dealership offered me a trade in on the Tbird, but I passed on their generous offer and parked it for a future project ( my 14 year old son has taken an interest in it recently ) .. 🤔

A shot a little more to the left, and I'd known if that stain was gone or not 😅

"What did you do to your Cougar today?"

Today, I filled up my Cougar with Phillips 66 Plus for $2.89 a gallon. I was quietly surprised with the price at the station considering the hell all of us are going through with price gouging these days.

Be wary when you buy from small businesses, restaurants, meat markets, etc. or buy on line from some companies (not Amazon or Walmart) as they are tacking on an added expense. Whether it be called a "service charge", 3% charge on using a VISA, adding a tip charge on top of the tip you already give at the table or as stupid as requesting a tip when you pick up your coffee from the counter, that you stood in line to order, paid for and had to get up and go get it when it was ready.... it is here and it is real. My friend received a delivery from UPS a week or so ago and the driver told them there was a $38 tariff charge they were supposed to pay. The driver hated doing this crap, and told my friend to refuse the delivery and call the company it came from to complain. And its not just here, it is happening around the world to people. Simple greed.

This right here, I always say "no tip".

You're not providing me a service beyond doing the basic functions of your job. No tip for you.

Counting turns only works if the old and new parts are exactly the same. I usually measure from a part on the inner tie rod to the center of the outer tie rod stud and set to that, but I almost always end up making minor tweaks to get the car to roll straight and/or to center the steering wheel. Mind you it still needs an alignment, but I hate sending a car out with a crooked steering wheel.
I stopped using a particular tire store after 25 years because they couldn't be bothered to straighten the damn wheel after alignment. I hated to take it back because of what else they might mess up. It wasn't like I rushed them either time. Tough crap I have 6 other vehicles that I buy tires for and I Will Not be back Ever. I have inner tierods to replace so I fell you.

Had to put a new battery in as I lost a cell in one that was 4 yrs old. One evening stopped for gas, turned lights off manually. After pumping gas went to start and starter hit but never turned and the interior lights went out. 12.7 volts but no turning starter. Jumped and ran the 3 miles to house. Bummed.

Took it for a 90 minute rip immediately after I got home. I really hate myself for how little I’ve driven it all year but all the work and money I’ve put into it this year finally felt like it paid off tonight. It’s still far from “modern fast” but it’s just so fun to drive, it really feels like I finally got the ingredients right.

It still needs some tune attention as I can occasionally feel, hear and see in my wideband gauge it needs it, and I’m really feeling (and I mean literally) it needs a better driveshaft for interstate usage, but it’s at a point that if I did anything beyond those refinements I don’t think I’d be as happy

Anyway here’s a shot at the park because I felt awkward just staring at it when someone walked by 😆

Took my bird to the (mandatory yearly) inspection, and passed 8-) Although with two remarks, one about rust and another one about the battery being loose. I think the battery I have is too small in physical size, and hence the poor clamp does nothing.
