Building a replacement exhaust system

How does it sound?

Joe
Hey Joe, I am following up on your question about "how my exhaust sounds" now, after hours of running the car and taking it for a long drive today, the glass packs have settled in. I keep thinking I have an exhaust leak, but I know its the glass pack rattle, which I have to roll down my windows when I am backing out of the garage to get the full effect of using glass packs with the stock OEM's. I can pretend I have a race car... :P

I asked the wife today while driving if she thought the car was quieter and she said yes. After putting in the origal cat forward with a Y pipe in the car, it was LOUD inside. Putting the glass packs in really quited down the sound and still gives a nice rumble that I can hear. We have enough a-holes in the neihborhood that seem to think louder is cooler. I am sure it is, but not at 6 am in the morning or 11 pm a night when they drive past the house.

In the late 70's, I lived in ATL, and had a neighbor in the bldg across the street with a Nova with open headers. every morning at 5:30, he'd start it, and do a burnout to the corner. After a month of that shit, my buddy and I went out one night, and put the rear axle on blocks, so the rear wheels exactly weren't touching the ground. He went out the next morning, and instead of a burnout, sent pieces of the engine to the corner, lol. I could hear applause from both apartment buildings. :)
He got the idea, after that. I found out later that someone else had added a quart of nitromethane to the gas tank, lol.

Wow! It's nice to hear stories of good samritans looking out for those that don't have a voice. :P

I applaud you sir for your heroic behavior towards a bully.

In all sincerity, people like the person in your description seem to be growing. It's like a movement of selfish a-holes that think their entitled to do whatever they want. Have you ever gone up to someone and told they are doing something wrong? What is the reaction you got? I usually get "it's none of your business" or much harsher words. Never have I heard "oh, my apologies that I am causing others to be apoplectic".
