Post a picture you took today

At least it’s a spot fully hidden by the bumper cover where you could repair it later without effecting the visible paint if you wanted, classic cars even from the southwest often rust in that same spot but it’s on exterior metal.

Yeah I decided to take care of it now, so it does not get worse.

Looking nice. I just finished shoveling so it will be a little while before I can wash my car. Is that the SuperCouper Performance Hood? How do you like the fit/finish of it? Did it require much work to get it looking good?

Thank you. It's a Fiber Concepts hood. They're out of Warminster, PA.

If Bill at SCP sells them, Fiber Concepts is where he gets them from. It looks like his price is slightly less that the Fiber Concepts price (720.89 vs. 744.00) but be careful ordering from him. He's known to price gouge on shipping. I'd reach out to Fiber Concepts first and see what they say. You can reach them at 800-672-1238.

The Part # is: CHA-C78 '94-'95 - Thunderbird Cobra R

You can get them directly from Fiber Concepts at the link below. (Sidebar) I'm so glad to see that they're still in business, their website is still up and these are still available! I haven't looked at them in years.

Not sure how much work it took to prep and paint. RobertP and I ordered three of those hoods at the same time for our cars and one other car.
I had a friend of Rob's, who is an amazing paint and body man, paint my car at the time that the hood was installed. He did all the work.

You can tell from the pictures that the fit and finish of the hood is great. Be careful putting gas pistons on it as it's MUCH lighter than a stock metal hood. I use older, worn out hood shocks that I sourced from someone who was replacing theirs to support it.

Damn Ron, I went into my garage just to contemplate plans for a moment and I nearly froze to death. Luckily my car is still cleanish from my annual wash lol

Oh and fix your taillights 😝

I tell ya what. I'll fix my tail lights when Oscar finishes that 10K RPM engine build.

I swear if I’m ever within a 100 mile radius of your car I’m swapping either the taillights or LED panels to match in the most productive act of vandalism ever 😝 I’ve got either, just watch!

I’ll put @General Zods car together too if I have to too in the same scenario! :bangedbycougar

Looks like everyone needs an atv tomorrow; Snow from Kansas to Maine. We're supposed to get snow, rain, and snow tomorrow; It's been below freezing all day, so whatever we get early will stick; if it stays cold, and rains, we could get an ice storm, which happens every 10 years or so. Had one in 80, in ~88, 94,06; we're overdue. Can't even walk on pavement in one. Kaatu is pissed because I don't let him out when it's below freezing. It's 25 here.
How much snow do y'all have on the ground?

I've never lit off our basement fireplace in the 18 months we've lived in this house. Our inspector caught a damper that's stuck open.

Since it's open, I may light it today. Wonder how long that log has been in there.

I want to get my fireplace swept/inspected, but I'm worried that they'll 'have' to do something drastic like new mason work. I'm sick of using a shredder for all the bullshit mail

Storm is going south of us (Northern Iowa). We currently have a trace on the front, but it's 17°

Painted and assembled a 1:20 figure for the wife today - it must be the first plastic model I've built in probably 15 years. This thing is tiny, barely 4" tall. It's a character from the first animated series she ever watched some 30 years ago (Record of Lodoss War) - we were shocked to see the kit for sale considering its age.

I had to custom mix the bulk of the paint colors; fortunately all my old Testors enamels are still viscous enough that all I needed was a little thinner. We have an original animation cel from the series of this character, so I used that for reference. :)

If you had snow, cdb, I'd worry! It's 40 now, but been colder, getting colder for the next few days. I don't let kaatu outside when it's below freezing, so he's pissed at me. He saw me refurbing the litterbox with new litter, so he's been mad since, lol.

Plastics (clear envelope liner), smooth paper (advertisements) and some colored ink in mail corrispondace can cause unwanted creosot to the flew and puts horrible chemicals into the air when it burns (if unfiltered). So I shread the mail first, then burn it. :p

Good information. Thank you. I was just on their website a few days ago and wondering if that was the same hood. I just estimated a shipment cost per their instructions and it is about $430 to ship so it would be around $1200 for my hood ('96/'97). There is a guy way down in Missouri with one for sale. It might be worth the hassle to just drive down there and get that.

Any issues with your hood latch? I read several instances of it tearing out of the hood which is why a lot of people have hood pins.

I haven’t had any issues with mine. I’m not home now or I’d send you a picture of it. Hope to be home by this weekend if you’re interested.
