Easiest tell is the distributor hole. If the top of the wall to the valley is pretty much flush with the distributor opening, it’s a 289/302. I bought the Dorman ones of Parts Geek... I'm expecting them to leak but I needed some quickly because my last ones were broke.
I got the side lights on RockAuto for half off, it was a heck of a deal. Keep checking RockAuto, they may bring the price down on the headlamps to half eventually (if they don't sell them all first).

Of all the cars he had in the garage / shop, he picked the biggest POS to try and drive cross country. I would have taken the 59' El Camino myself.
