Yep. He bought this one new. He's been adding on to his shop to create space for it in the main room. It's nearly time to get started on this car.73 Mustang, Dad's car Rod?
Joe
Both of my brothers had 71-73 Mustangs, I was the early guy with the gas tank being the trunk floor!I love the 71-73s, it’s almost a dirty secret to be a ford guy and say that sometimes but i always liked them since I was a little kid.
Fun fact* it’s the only first gen Mustang where the shock towers have reasonable clearance AND the only first gen Mustangs where the trunk floor isn’t the damn gas tank
It's a coupe. Plan for now is rebuild the engine, add FI, Trickflow heads, go to a modern AC system, install a AOD from a '89 XR7, replace everything brake/suspension related, paint the engine bay, add SFC's, and probably stick some Magnum 500 wheels on it. Want to make it a nice cruiser for my Mom and Dad. It's been in the back of his shop since the late-80's, but it's in amazing condition for having sat that long.Details! I see it has 302, Coupe, fastback, Mach !? What are his (your) plans?
Is that oil temp or oil pressure gauge? because mine always sits on the high side. I just chalked it up to my high-pressure oil pump. Am I missing something?Remember when I showed my functional oil pressure gauge on a high 90s day and shocking and awing you guys with how low it was?

Consistently inconsistent lol Can’t imagine why Ford stopped using variable senders
I'll say that I sure wouldn't want to stick my fingers in there!Nice!
Question about the fan though. How many fingers do you think it's chopped off (or severely injured) in its nearly 100yr lifespan?
I think it's missing one leather washer that controls end-play, but I'm not tearing it back apart, at least not at the moment. It's destined to be a "wall hanger" for the shop; it won't actually see any real use.A little noisy but I'm sure it really does the job!
Joe
My sister hit one of those yesterday on her way home. Really messed up the front end and car will probably be totaled. Damn deer.... "headlights.... " and they stop dead in their tracks.Just got home and found this guy in the back yard!

Nice find RaceCougar! I love those old fans! My grandmother had them in her rooms in Ohio. So nice to have in the summer (no A/C back then).Finished up a clean-up and re-wire of this 1927 Emerson Jr oscillating fan. Nearly 100 years old and it works great!
Video of it in action:

Discovered the reason why it was noisy on the first startup. I had lightly oiled everything while reassembling, thinking that was plenty. Nope. Reading up on these fans, they take 20cc's of oil (a lot of oil, IMO) in the shaft. I squirted some in and it's nice and quiet now.I think it's missing one leather washer that controls end-play, but I'm not tearing it back apart, at least not at the moment.
