Nice huh? Until the weight of the snow snaps a branch, hits a power line and then your whole life sucks for 30 hours until they fix the downed line in my neighbors yard. I am SSSSSOOOOO grateful to have power restored!!!!

My daughter lives in Denver and she told me yesterday afternoon there was about 8 inches on the ground already. Losing power sucks, that's why I bought a generator.

The only bad thing with a generator is your neighbors have to share the noise of a gas powered generator. We are seriously looking into whole house battery backup with solar as I suspect this is not the last we will see of brown / black outs.

I just looked again, you’re in New Mexico, isn’t that supposed to be desert?

Found my spare Mark 8 evap canister tray. OG finally rusted away and mostly disintegrated; for now I have to use zip ties to temporarily hold the charcoal canisters to what's left of it. Before I install it I'm going to 3D scan it and try cleaning it up for possible reproduction, as practice before I try the cluster bezel...

That picture makes much more sense. In the first pic it looked like the shell was attached to the house and part of the front entrance. Still, not sure how great I would feel having a giant yellow shell right next to my house.

I bought a box of stuff- mostly old tools from my uncle's estate a couple years back. Finally going thru it and found this. Is says Lanolin Plus. I found an old shampoo bottle online with that name. This looks more like lip balm. Nothing in it of course. Any ideas what else it could be?

Lipstick tube.

spotted a 96-97 bird in the wild this morning fueling up before my trip to deliver my block. Figured that was a good omen.
Yup. They’re becoming more and more rare. That one looks to be in decent shape … at least from that distance.
Looks like a Sport too.

Hard to tell from where I was and it was early. I'd typically say that if it's driving around Iowa this time of year, good chance it's rusty. It didn't look like it though from a distance!

"It's a high desert" We are at 5500 ft above see level and the Sandia mountains are at 10,000 ft. We get snow ever year, but not like this and not this soon.

Some folks get floods, some get fires, we get heavy snow. We are all screwed in one way or another.

By the way, the snow had all melted in 2 days.
